I am a strong advocate of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which protects freedom of religion as well as speech, press and assembly.
I was raised in the Orthodox Christian church. I still attend services and follow those traditions. I was also educated by Jesuits at Santa Clara University. They taught me that religion is more than the organized expression of faith. It is about the way we live.
I believe our duty is to love and respect others, even those who do not share our personal views. As a candidate for public office, I am committed to defend everyone’s rights. Where rights conflict, I will work to find fair and equitable solutions.
